BRTA attends the eleventh edition of the Global Innovation Day

The Global Innovation Day was held at the Kursaal Palace in Donostia, the event was organized by the Basque Innovation Agency, Innobasque. This event brings together the main scientific, technological, social and cultural trends, showing the importance of innovation for economic development.

A center of the BRTA (Basque Research & Technology Alliance), has had direct participation, presenting the initiative Emakumeak Zientzian (women in science). This participation was made by Itziar Otegui, head of Communication at CIC nanoGUNE.



Five practical cases of industrial innovation were presented: I+Med, Iparlat, Savvy Data Systems - Fagor Automation, Tknika and Zunibal.

The round table was on "Talent, the engine of innovation": Asier Arizmendiarreta. R&D Engineer at Ikergune; Urtza Llona, head of Productivity and Efficiency Development at Mercedes-Benz; Lurdes Ondaro, pre-doctoral researcher at the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC) Foundation; Aitor Uriondo, director of Axular Lizeoa.



The event was closed by the Lehendakari Iñigo Urkullu Renteria.

The event was attended by personalities such as Bingen Zupiria, Minister of Culture and Linguistic Policy of the Basque Government; Arantxa Tapia, Minister of Economic Development, Sustainability and Environment of the Basque Government; Cristina Uriarte, Commissioner for Science, Technology and Innovation of the Basque Government; Iñigo Ucín, president of Mondragon Corporation; Isabel Busto, president of Confebask; Vicente Atxa, rector of Mondragon Unibertsitatea; Nuria Gisbert, general manager of CIC EnergiGUNE; Fernando Irigoyen, general manager of Kutxabank; Xabier Iturbe, president of Euskaltel; and Nerea Begoña, director of Diocesan Centers.
